# Memory actions

3 actions. Every field marked *Required* must be sent; `account`, `dryRun`, `idempotencyKey`, `confirmCredits` and `quoteId` are the [control fields](/api/responses/#control-fields) every surface adds.

## Remember

`memory.remember` · write

Save a fact, writing preference or answer about the user to the memory every Xholic writer reads. Only things the user told you or confirmed.

- **MCP tool:** `remember`. Loaded by default in MCP clients.
- **REST:** `POST /v1/memory/remember`
- **CLI:** `xholic memory remember`
- **Scope:** `write`
- **Plan:** Every plan, including the trial
- **Cost:** Free.
- **Rate limit bucket:** `write`

Remove a memory the user says is wrong or outdated.

- **Plan:** Every plan, including the trial
- **Cost:** Free.

- **Scope:** `read`
